Babatunde Aléshé is one of the fastest rising stars in British Comedy. 

He regularly performs for audiences of thousands at iconic venues such as the O2 and Hackney Empire. A powerhouse performer, his stand up presents a hilariously fresh perspective, oozing charisma whilst showcasing impeccable stagecraft and comic timing.

 

Babatunde’s numerous entertainment TV credits include Romesh Ranganathan’s reboot of The Weakest Link, (BBC), Guessable (Comedy Central), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Jonathan Ross Stand Up Club (ITV1), Don’t Hate the Playaz (ITV2) and Stand Up to Cancer (Channel 4). In 2020, he was featured in the groundbreaking documentary Black, British and Funny (Channel 4), celebrating artists and icons from the Black British circuit. 

 

Babatunde is also part of the cast for the multi award winning Celebrity Gogglebox (Channel 4), having quickly become a fan favourite, going on to represent the show for its BAFTA nomination.

 

In addition to his success in comedy, Babatunde has authored provocative factual content drawing on his own powerful story of growing up poor in inner city London (Trap Town, London Live). An experienced actor, he has appeared in an extensive list of TV shows including Waking the Dead and films including Pelican Blood and The Naked Poet, alongside cutting-edge theatre such as Iya Ilé (Soho Theatre) and Requiem for Tomorrow (Shaw Theatre).

 

In 2021 Babatunde supported Mo Gilligan on his sold out national tour and appeared at the O2 Arena’s Black British Takeover.
