All-New Full-Length Album Featuring All-Star Rock Royalty Supporting Cast

On November 8, Taylor Hawkins will descend from the levitating drum throne on which he’s spent two years on tour supporting Foo Fighters’ international #1 album Concrete and Gold. The forthcoming third Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders album, Get The Money, will be released by Shanabelle/Columbia Records on that date, and can be pre-ordered now with all pre-orders receiving the instant grat track “Crossed The Line” (featuring guest turns from Hawkins’ bandmate Dave Grohl and Yes vocalist Jon Davison).

Produced by John Lousteau and Taylor himself, and mixed by Sylvia Massy, Get The Money follows Taylor’s 2016 six-song mini-LP KOTA by three years almost to the day, and features a scope far wider than KOTA’s takes on suburbia’s bizarro underbelly. The new album finds Taylor and Coattail Riders Chris Chaney, Brent Woods and John Lousteau accompanied by an all-star supporting cast including Taylor’s fellow Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Roger Taylor, Joe Walsh,  Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Perry Farrell,  LeAnn Rimes and more, collectively creating a staggering, epic sprawl that swerves from classic rock to prog and glam and all points between.

Since the Texas-born Laguna-bred force of nature made his Foo Fighting debut on the tour supporting 1997’s sophomore opus The Colour and the Shape, he has been an essential element of the sound and personality of the last great American arena/stadium rock band.  He’s played on Grammy-winning FF albums including There Is Nothing Left To Lose, One by One and Wasting Light, and contributed lead vocals to Concrete and Gold’s “Sunday Rain,” as well as “Cold Day In The Sun” from 2005’s In Your Honor.

Taylor’s previous extracurricular output includes two albums from Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, one with The Birds of Satan, the above-mentioned KOTA mini-LP that featured Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument.

UK Top 5 Album ‘Office Politics’ Out Now

Play London Eventim Apollo October 17th

In the lead up to his highly anticipated UK tour, Neil Hannon, aka The Divine Comedy, unveils a stunning combined animated video for new double A side ‘Infernal Machines’ and ‘You’ll Never Work In This Town Again’. The tracks come from the acclaimed ‘Office Politics’, Hannon’s highest charting album (#5) that was released earlier this year, spawning appearances on shows across BBC Radio 2, 6Music, Radio 4, ITV & BBC Breakfast amongst others.

Watch the video and listen to the tracks HERE

The two tracks illustrate Neil Hannon’s diversity as a songwriter. The industrial glam of ‘Infernal Machines’ and the murky Latin syncopations of ‘You’ll Never Work This Town Again’ both expertly comment on the reluctance to fully place our lives in the hands of technology.

Talking of the tracks, Hannon comments; “These two songs really are at the very heart of what I was trying to do and say on ‘Office Politics’. Lyrically; that I’m not greatly enamoured of our rush to hand over our world and our lives to technology, and musically; that I would use all means at my disposal to properly frame these ideas.”

The double A side comes accompanied by a superb animated video directed by Mathieu Persan, who says; “Between the lyrics and the versatility of the music style, there was so much to be inspired by. The themes involved have really fascinated me for a long time, and despite being rather pessimistic about the future, I wanted to carry a message of hope. I think the whole movie is just a praise for a more simple life, a bit further from technology and closest to nature.”

The single will be released digitally and as a limited edition 7” and arrives ahead of an 11-date UK and Ireland tour this month which includes a must-see show at London’s Eventim Apollo on October 17th. Ticket links can be found at www.thedivinecomedy.com/live

‘Blue Eyed Soul’ Out November 8th on BMG

2020 Autumn UK Tour on sale now

Following a storming set at Radio 2 in Hyde Park and the announcement of a huge 2020 Autumn tour, Simply Red today release new soulful-ballad ‘Sweet Child’. The single is taken from their 12th studio album, ‘Blue Eyed Soul’, which will be released on November 8th on BMG.

Effortlessly soulful, the dreamy string section compliments the catchy guitar riff on ‘Sweet Child’. This coupled with Mick’s instantly recognisable vocal line makes for a classic Simply Red song. On the track Mick commented, “We (alleged) grown ups should be asking ourselves if we will be leaving this world in better shape for our children than it is for us. So, are we? Or are we failing them?”

Listen to ‘Sweet Child’ HERE

Recorded in London at British Grove Studios, all ten tracks of ‘Blue Eyed Soul’ were written by Mick Hucknall and produced by long time collaborator Andy Wright.

He’s got blue eyes and a soulful voice, and it’s Hucknall’s remarkable voice that takes centre stage on this record. “I wanted to push my voice a little harder, challenge it a little bit, give myself something to really sing to.”

The results are simply sensational. Recorded as live, with few overdubs,

‘Blue Eyed Soul’ drew on inspiration from classic funk and soul: Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland and Tower of Power.

Simply Red have over a billion hits on YouTube, and have sold over 60 million albums since forming over thirty years ago. Holding back the years indeed.

“At this stage of my career, I could do one of those dark reflective albums looking back on my life and all that kind of stuff that people tend to do at a certain age,” Mick Hucknall admits. “But I thought sod that! I wanted to make something punchy. I want to have a good time.”

And that’s exactly what you get throughout ‘Blue Eyed Soul’, satisfaction guaranteed.

Simply Red play the following UK dates. Tickets on sale now from myticket.co.uk/artists/simply-red

FROM OUT OF NOWHERE NOV. 1

TITLE SONG PREMIERED TODAY ON BBC RADIO 2 AND AVAILABLE NOW TO STREAM AND WITH ALBUM PRE-ORDER

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and music legend Jeff Lynne will follow up a remarkable run of sold out European and American tours with a new album, From Out of Nowhere, on November 1st. The album is now available for pre-order, and the title track “From Out of Nowhere” is available to stream and download with album pre-order here.

Lynne, whose music has touched fans deeply across three generations now, has found himself in recent years at the peak of his powers as a songwriter, musician and producer.  The forthcoming album features a buoyant title song, which premiered today on BBC Radio 2.  The song opens the album which features ten songs, from the wistful “Help Yourself” to the celebratory “Down Came the Rain” to the churning rocker “One More Time” (featuring a solo from pianist Richard Tandy) to the sweet closer, “Songbird.”

As does its predecessor, 2015’s Alone in the Universe (the first new release from Lynne in 14 years), From Out of Nowhere shows Lynne finding new facets to his signature sound, at once drawing on his globally loved legacy and forging new paths in both sounds and emotions. Once again, he plays nearly every note of the music on guitars, bass, piano, drums, keyboards and vibes, as well as singing all of the lead and layered harmony vocals. Steve Jay, who also engineered the album, adds some percussion.

The very existence of the album is an unexpected joy, as much for its creator as for his fans. “‘From Out of Nowhere” — that’s exactly where it came from,” Lynne says. “That’s the first one I wrote for this album and it’s kind of like that.”  It’s a song about hope and salvation.  Lynne often found himself turning to a sense of optimism, which is a theme recurring throughout the album, saying “Everybody’s got to have a bit of hope.”

This album builds on the energy and acclaim generated by the release of Alone in the Universe and the triumphant return to touring for the first time since 1985, starting with a 2014 performance before more than 50,000 people in London’s Hyde Park. Since then he and the remarkable group he’s assembled have toured in Europe and North America, with shows including sold out dates at such esteemed locales as two nights at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, eight nights at the O2 Arena in London, a headlining slot at the 2016 Glastonbury Festival, a three-night fireworks spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl and a June 2017 spectacle for nearly 60,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. That latter was captured in the Wembley or Bust concert film. That was followed by a major U.S. arena tour in 2018 and a return for twenty North American shows this past summer.

Covering the Anaheim kick-off to the 2019 trek, Forbes’ Steve Baltin called the return to the stage “a very unexpected surprise for fans, one that should be savored and celebrated not just by ELO fans, but any music fan who wants the chance to experience what has, in a turn no one could have seen coming, become consistently one of the best live acts in the world.”

Additionally, 2017 also saw Lynne inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the touring band performing at the ceremony.

With more than 50 million albums sold, ELO ranks among the most popular acts of its era. Those totals cover four consecutive Top 10 albums and seven reaching the Top 20, as well as a remarkable string of hit singles — 20 reaching the U.S. Top 40 and a full seven of them lodging in the Top 10. Lynne’s reach, of course, has extended far beyond ELO, touching millions as a producer and collaborator, most notably as a member of the Traveling Wilburys alongside George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. He also produced Harrison’s colorful Cloud Nine album and with Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr crafted full songs from John Lennon’s home tapes of “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love.”

Over the course of five studio albums, Green has compiled a canon ripe with songs amassing a legion of fans worldwide. With this 6th full-length album, Green siphons serenity from stress through a kaleidoscope of lush guitars, ethereal orchestration, and heavenly delivery over eleven tracks that illuminate an entrancing emotional expanse, balancing two extremes with eloquence and energy.

“I wrote a lot of dark songs and wrapped them in the most beautiful sounds we could find,” Green explains. “There are personal connotations, but they’re also relatable. I’m thankful for the opportunity to create.”

The “Here Comes The Sun” music video welcomes the viewer into Abbey Road Studios’ Studio Two, where The Beatles famously recorded most of Abbey Road, to experience a unique and moving sunrise above the band’s instruments and gear. Working closely with Apple Corps Ltd., the video is directed by Trunk Animation’s director team Alasdair + Jock (Alasdair Brotherston and Jock Mooney) and produced by Trunk’s Maria Manton. The video’s sun centerpiece was filmed as it was meticulously crafted on-set in Abbey Road’s Studio Two. The video features photos from the Apple Corps archive, and photos and footage shot by Linda McCartney supplied by Paul McCartney.

The Beatles will celebrate Abbey Road with a suite of beautifully presented Anniversary Edition packages to be released this Friday, September 27 by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe. The album’s 17 tracks are newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and mix engineer Sam Okell in stereo, 5.1 surround, and Dolby Atmos, accompanied by 23 session recordings and demos, most of which are previously unreleased. The new music video for “Here Comes The Sun” features the song’s new stereo mix.
