“Shiflett flawlessly blends blue-collar country punk with a catchy Bakersfield bounce…(and) crafts a sound that is both geographically grounded and wholly his own.” – Rolling Stone
Chris Shiflett, lead guitarist of the Foo Fighters, today releases his stellar new track ‘This Ol’ World’, a single that builds on his previous gorgeous Dave Cobb produced album, ‘West Coast Town’. He also announces a March UK and Europe tour, including a show at London’s Omeara on 1st April.
Listen to new single ‘This Ol’ World’ HERE
‘This Ol’ World’ is everything a country song should be: infectious, upbeat and beautifully melancholic. ‘This ol’ world has lost its mind’, Chris chants, the call and response of the two electric guitars cleverly mimicking a back and forth argument, providing catchy musical relief from the trials and tribulations of ‘this ol’ world’.

Born in Santa Barbara and now based in Los Angeles Chris Shiflett is one of best lead guitarists in the world, being a part of legendary rock band, Foo Fighters, for 20 years. . In addition to music, Shiflett is the creator and host of the weekly podcast, “Walking the Floor with Chris Shiflett,” which features one-on-one interviews with a wide range of musical guests, writers, athletes, and artists.

Chris Shiflett will play the following UK and European dates. Tickets on sale now from

Announce Special Edition
‘Steve McQueen Acoustic’
For Record Store Day 2019

Originally released in 1985, Prefab Sprout have announced a special edition of their masterpiece ‘Steve McQueen’. ‘Steve McQueen Acoustic’ will be released exclusively on 180g vinyl for the very first time for Record Store Day 2019.

In the summer of 2006, Paddy McAloon recorded new versions of tracks from Prefab Sprout’s critically acclaimed album, ‘Steve McQueen’ – rebuilding them from scratch with acoustic guitars, sequencers and samples, with producer Calum Malcolm. Always looking to move forward and reimagine work, Paddy said of the release “like many people – I’m always curious to hear another take on a song.”

‘Steve McQueen Acoustic’ Track List:
Side 1
Appetite
Bonny
Desire As
When Love Breaks Down

Side 2
Goodbye Lucille #1
Moving The River
Faron Young
When The Angels

‘Steve McQueen’ was recorded by Thomas Dolby in 1984-85, with Thomas even selecting the track list from those that Paddy proffered. The resulting album was one that would regularly inhabit all-time lists of greatest albums: number 47 in a 1993 Times poll; number 90 in a 1996 Mojo poll and, in a 1997 Guardian list, number 61. On that record, songs like Goodbye Lucille #1 (Johnny Johnny) and When Love Breaks Down instantly distinguished Paddy as a peerlessly empathetic chronicler of human heart’s travails.

Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar.

Although there’s only one Record Store Day a year, we also work throughout the year to celebrate our independent record stores by spotlighting exclusive releases, events and special news.

New EP ‘Better When I’m Drunk’
Out Now on BMG
C2C London Shows March 9th & 10th

Named by Rolling Stone as one of the stand-out acts at the 2018  Country2Country festival and in Billboard’s Hotly Tipped ‘Ones To Watch For 2019, recent BMG signee and rising UK star Twinnie releases her glorious debut EP, out now.

Showcasing what a powerhouse talent Twinnie is, lead track ‘Better When I’m Drunk’ is an honest, fun, country fuelled ride with kickass vocals that she describes as “showing the humour and the truth in what people actually feel on a night out vs the morning after”. ‘Type of Girl’ displays Twinnie’s impeccable vocal range at its best, whilst perfectly balancing old school country with a new, pop edge, while the emotional ballad, ‘Superhero’ shows a different side to Twinnie. “I guess love has no place for superheroes” – the melancholy and feeling evident in Twinnie’s beautiful voice.

Check out the EP’s title track ‘Better When I’m Drunk’ HERE

Speaking of the themes of her EP, Twinnie comments; “I grew up in the north of England where typically people tell it how it is. I was always inspired by that honesty and I guess that shaped me as a songwriter. Living in a world of social media where everything and everyone is perceived to be perfect, I wanted to write songs that were honest and authentic to me. I really carried that thought throughout this creative process and I have no shame in highlighting my flaws and being vulnerable. Each song shows a different side of my personality and is an introduction of what to expect from my debut album.”

Always destined to be a performer, Twinnie spent her formative years in Yorkshire singing, writing, acting and travelling to her beloved Nashville to soak up the knowledge and learn the craft. She is definitely one not to be missed in 2019.

Twinnie plays the following C2C March shows (stage times in brackets):

Sun 3rd Spotlight Stage at the Verti Music Hall Foyer, Berlin (17:00)

The majority of the material on Social Cues was written during the unravelling of Shultz’s relationship. He explains, “it can be a vehicle to act out things that are hard to confront.” He went on to say, “I let images just arise in my mind and wait for it to evoke an emotional response and then when it does, I know I’m on to something. One listen to ‘Social Cues’ and you’ll agree!
