with acclaimed Academy Award winning director Sir Peter

London – January 30, 2019 – Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Ltd. are proud to announce an exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and the acclaimed Academy Award winning director Sir Peter Jackson. The new film will be based around 55 hours of never-released footage of The Beatles in the studio, shot between January 2nd and January 31st, 1969. These studio sessions produced The Beatles’ Grammy Award winning album Let It Be, with its Academy Award winning title song. The album was eventually released 18 months later in May 1970, several months after the band had broken up.

The filming was originally intended for a planned TV special, but organically turned into something completely different, climaxing with The Beatles’ legendary performance on the roof of Apple’s Savile Row London office — which took place exactly 50 years ago today.

Peter Jackson said, “The 55 hours of never-before-seen footage and 140 hours of audio made available to us, ensures this movie will be the ultimate ‘fly on the wall’ experience that Beatles fans have long dreamt about – it’s like a time machine transports us back to 1969, and we get to sit in the studio watching these four friends make great music together.”

Although The Beatles were filmed extensively during the 1960s – in concerts, interviews and movies – this is the only footage of any note that documents them at work in the studio.

The Let It Be album and movie, having been released in the months following The Beatles’ breakup, have often been viewed in the context of the struggle the band was going through at that time.

“I was relieved to discover the reality is very different to the myth,” continues Jackson, “After reviewing all the footage and audio that Michael Lindsay-Hogg shot 18 months before they broke up, it’s simply an amazing historical treasure-trove. Sure, there’s moments of drama – but none of the discord this project has long been associated with. Watching John, Paul, George, and Ringo work together, creating now-classic songs from scratch, is not only fascinating – it’s funny, uplifting and surprisingly intimate”.

“I’m thrilled and honoured to have been entrusted with this remarkable footage – making the movie will be a sheer joy.”

Jackson will be working with his They Shall Not Grow Old partners, Producer Clare Olssen and Editor Jabez Olssen. The footage will be restored by Park Road Post of Wellington, New Zealand, to a pristine standard, using techniques developed for the WW1 documentary film which has been nominated for a BAFTA for best documentary.

The untitled film is currently in production and the release date will be announced in due course. This film is being made with the full co-operation of Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, and Olivia Harrison.

The Executive Producers are Ken Kamins for WingNut Films and Jeff Jones and Jonathan Clyde for Apple Corps.

Following the release of this new film, a restored version of the original Let It Be movie directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg will also be made available.

Release New Single ‘If You Don’t Love Me’ through Thirty Tigers Play Omeara 13th March

“Sonically, there are very few bands that can display such raw talent as Ida Mae did in this set…(they) were completely untouchable.” – Impact Nottingham

“Ida Mae simply win you over.” – Tap The Feed

“Sometimes you see a band live for the first time and it completely hits the spot. This was one such occasion.” – Leeds Living

Fresh back from two months touring in the States and with the announcement of their first UK tour in March, husband and wife duo, Ida Mae, (Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean) release their new single ‘If You Don’t Love Me’ through Thirty Tigers today.

Listen to ‘If You Don’t Love Me’ HERE

Ida Mae’s magic lies in the sensuous dovetailing of two voices and the intimacy of their songs. Chris’ vocals are reminiscent of a Face’s era Rod Stewart or Steve Marriott, while Stephanie combines the delicacy of Patty Griffin with the effortless rock-chic of Alison Mosshart. Singing together, the couple have an unusual ‘which-is-which’ dynamic.

After finding critical acclaim with Kill It Kid, touring the world as newlyweds and working closely with legendary A&R man Seymour Stein, Chris and Stephanie have recently finished recording their debut album with acclaimed producer and friend Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams / Ray Lamontagne / Kings Of Leon / Laura Marling) which is set to be released in early Summer of 2019 through Thirty Tigers.

Touring highlights as Ida Mae include support slots with The Lone Bellow, Nick Mulvey, Nikki Lane, The Marcus King Band, Will Varley and Greta Van Fleet. They have also played Emmylou Harris’s Woofstock Festival & Kings Of Leon’s Harvest Night in Nashville. Ida Mae play the following UK & Ireland dates:

January 2019
Thu 24th                        GLASGOW, Celtic Connections @ Hug and Pint
March 2019
Sat 9th                          BRISTOL, The Louisiana
Mon 11th                      MANCHESTER, Eagle Inn
Tues 12th                      NORWICH, Norwich Arts Centre
Wed 13th                      LONDON, Omeara

Starting off simply with Chris’ sweet vocals accompanied on guitar, ‘If You Don’t Love Me’ gradually builds into a crescendo of pure bliss. Stephanie’s vocals beautifully weave over the top of Chris’ falsetto resulting in a balanced, humble sound.

“This is one of the first songs we wrote for the record,” the duo said of the new single. “Ethan encouraged us to perform very intimate vocal takes, everyone playing live side by side in the same room late at night. ‘If You Don’t Love Me’ embodies the simplicity and honesty of the record as a whole. We worked to marry uncommon sonic textures on the record, spanning the decades of our influences. This can be heard in the organic sound of my 1930s National Duolian steel guitar and a 1980s digital auto harp.”

Tickets for their European and UK tour are on sale now.

‘The Architect – Zeitgeist Edition’ Out Now

Following her performance on Sports Personality of the Year and the release of ‘The Architect – Zeitgeist Edition’, Paloma Faith releases her infectious new single ‘Your Ex’. The track is one of the bonus tracks to be taken from the deluxe edition of her #1 album ‘The Architect’ which is also out now on RCA Records and has already sold 400,000+ copies.

Watch the Randolph Avenue Session of ‘Your Ex’ HERE

Written by Paloma, Thomas Barnes, Benjamin Kohn, Peter Kelleher, Ella McMahon and Phil Cook and produced by TMS (Little Mix, Jess Glynne, Emeli Sandé) and Phil Cook (Olly Murs, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding), ‘Your Ex’ immediately establishes itself as a pop anthem with it’s contagious piano line and soulful vocal melody.

Lyrically, Paloma’s typically poetic verse captures the overwhelming feeling of jealousy and obsession that is prevalent in the social media age. “I thought when writing this song that if I told as many people as possible I am addicted to looking at my boyfriend’s ex on Instagram either she would block me and it would stop or I would stop doing it naturally because I was so embarrassed” say Paloma “so far, neither has happened.”

‘The Architect – Zeitgeist Edition’ features 6 new songs including the pop gem ‘Your Ex’; ‘Loyal’, a powerhouse, emotionally charged anthem; ‘Make Your Own Kind Of Music’, the hit song that sound tracked Paloma’s iconic Skoda campaign and ‘Lullaby’ her summer smash hit with superstar DJ and producer Sigala.

Paloma Faith’s first 3 albums went double platinum, joining Adele as the only British female artist this decade to achieve that feat, putting Paloma on course to become the first ever British female artist to achieve four double platinum records.

Produced by Kenneth Pattengale of The Milk Carton Kids and engineered by Matt Ross-Spang, Front Porch represents a new chapter in Williams’ career, who recorded the album in Nashville during the pregnancy of her second child. She reflects, “There is an energy that is very creative in having a baby. It gives a sense of urgency on top of all the creative energy.”

“So much of this is about coming home,” says Williams. “Whether to a physical place or to yourself. The lines on my face, I can see them more clearly now. But a lot of them are laugh lines. This record feels like breathing more deeply into who I am. Come what may.”

Joy Williams is the winner of four Grammy Awards. She has released four solo albums and four EPs since her self-titled debut in 2001. She was half of The Civil Wars from 2009 until 2014, after which she released her solo LP, 2015’s VENUS, which was praised by NPR Music for it’s “new, more adventurous pop sound,” furthering, “Williams takes on this material without shirking its heaviness, but her gift for melodies that rise up like warm winds brings a climate of grace to even the most difficult subject matter.”

In celebration of the release, Joy Williams will embark on an extensive US headline tour kicking off in Phoenix on February 25th, with UK dates to be announced shortly. Watch this space.

30th Anniversary Reissue of Stone Cold Classic Released As Super Deluxe Box Set, Deluxe Box Set, CD, LP, Digital March 29th on BMG

Available to Pre-Order Here

Watch new lyric video ‘My Babe’

In 1988 Keith Richards released his first ever solo album, ‘Talk Is Cheap’, an eleven track masterclass in everything good about rock ‘n roll.

It all began in 1986 when Keith was restless. The Stones were inactive and as Keith says It was one of those “forget about it times”. He’d worked with drummer Steve Jordan on the Chuck Berry film ‘Hail Hail Rock ‘n Roll’ and was looking for another challenge. He’d never before considered making a solo album and admits to initially being “dragged kicking and screaming” into the studio.

Throughout his storied career with the Rolling Stones, he had always been a one band man. “My central focus had always been that one thing,” Keith says. “I felt like in the Stones I had the perfect vehicle for what I wanted to do. I couldn’t imagine putting something else together would be equally satisfying.”

Thankfully he put together the incomparable X-Pensive Winos. From the start it felt like a band, with guitarist Waddy Wachtel an obvious first addition to Steve Jordan. “Waddy and I are like Ronnie and me,” Keith says. “Within five minutes it’s like you’ve known each other all your lives.”

With Charley Drayton, who plays bass and drums, three became four, then five with singer and keyboard player Ivan Neville. All of them were mutli-instrumentalists, musical all-rounders who set up camp at Le Studio, outside Quebec. Isolated from big city distractions, the music flowed from the start. “There was a roll going on and all I had to do was hang onto it,” Keith says.

One of the first tracks they recorded was the explosive ‘Take It So Hard’, a tight but loose classic that easily illustrates why Keith is called the human riff. It defines modern rock music.

Recording later moved onto Montserrat, Bermuda and other locales with guest appearances from an all-star cast including Sarah Dash, Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker, the Memphis Horns, Patti Sciafia and Mick Taylor.

There’s a joyous swagger to ‘Talk Is Cheap’ that permeates each and every song. It sounds as good today as it did thirty years ago – in Keith’s words “as fresh as the day it was made”. This reissue also includes 6 bonus tracks, four of which feature pianist Johnnie Johnson including Eddie Taylor’s ‘Big Town Playboy’, ‘Blues Jam’, ‘’Slim’ and the kinetic Jimmy Reed cover ‘My Babe’.

The Super Deluxe and Deluxe box set includes special, exclusive housing and folios, extensive sleeve notes by Anthony De Curtis telling the story” of the album’s production, release and cultural impact, unseen photo’s and rare memorabilia.

“This album holds up,“ Keith Richards says. “I’ve been listening to it and not through the mists of nostalgia either because it doesn’t affect me that way. This is more than the sum of its parts. I really admire it. We were having fun and you can hear it.”

‘Talk Is Cheap’ will be released as CD, vinyl, Deluxe and Super Deluxe box set.

Grammy® Award-Winning Singer-Songwriter Announces Self-Titled New Album Extraordinary Collection Marks 10th Studio Recording and First Eponymous Release of Two-Decade Career Announces UK and European Spring Tour

GRAMMY® Award winner Patty Griffin has announced the release of her long-awaited new album. The acclaimed singer-songwriter’s 10th studio recording and first-ever eponymous LP, PATTY GRIFFIN arrives Friday, March 8 on her own PGM Recordings label via Thirty Tigers. The album was recorded predominantly at Griffin’s home in Austin, TX, with Griffin and longtime collaborator Craig Ross co-producing, while the band is made up of a number of friends and frequent accompanists, including Ross, guitarist David Pulkingham, drummer/percussionist Conrad Choucroun, cellist Lindsey Verrill, pianist Stephen Barber, and Robert Plant, who contributes backing vocals to the LP’s “What Now” and “Coins.”

PATTY GRIFFIN is heralded by the powerful first track, “River.” The track premiered exclusively via People Magazine. “’Isn’t she a river?’ just kind of came out and the rest sort of followed,” said Griffin. “Sometimes songs are like that.  I wasn’t really reaching for anything intentionally – just playing some chords with a feeling inside and there you go.”

LISTEN TO “RIVER” HERE

PATTY GRIFFIN represents an extraordinary new chapter for this incomparable singer-songwriter and immediately stands among the most deeply personal recordings of her remarkable two-decade career. The album – which follows 2015’s GRAMMY® Award-nominated Servant of Love – collects songs written during and in the aftermath of profound personal crisis, several years in which she battled – and ultimately defeated – cancer just as a similar and equally insidious disease metastasized into the American body politic. Yet as always, like very few others, Griffin’s power lies in how, as Holly Gleason in the Martha’s Vineyard Gazette observed, “her songs seem to freeze life and truth in amber.” It’s in how Griffin can express the strikingly intimate while never making it about herself, all wrapped in sparse arrangements that breathe an incomparable force and import into her songcraft.

Griffin will celebrate the new album with a much anticipated world tour, which includes a show at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on May 15th. Tickets for all announced shows go on sale next Friday, January 18th and tickets for the London show go on sale Wednesday 30th. Full details, tour updates and much more can be found at www.pattygriffin.com/tour.

About Patty Griffin:

Patty Griffin is among the most consequential singer-songwriters of her generation, a quintessentially American artist whose wide-ranging canon incisively explores the intimate moments and universal emotions that bind us together. Over the course of two decades, the GRAMMY® Award winner – and seven-time nominee – has crafted nine classic studio albums and two live collections, a remarkable body of work in progress that prompted the New York Times to hail her for “[writing] cameo-carved songs that create complete emotional portraits of specific people…(her) songs have independent lives that continue in your head when the music ends.”

The Austin, TX-based singer and songwriter made an immediate impact with her 1996 debut, Living With Ghosts, and its 1998 follow-up, Flaming Red – both now considered seminal works of modern folk and Americana. Since then, Griffin’s diverse body of work spans such classic LPs as 2002’s GRAMMY® Award-nominated 1000 Kisses – later ranked #15 on Paste’s “The 50 Best Albums of the Decade (2000-2009),” — to 2007’s Children Running Through, honored by the Americana Music Association with two Americana Honors & Awards including “Artist of the Year” and “Album of the Year.” To date, Griffin has received seven total nominations from the Americana Music Association, affirming her as one of the far-reaching genre’s leading proponents. 2011’s Downtown Church – which blends traditional gospel favorites with Griffin’s own spiritually questioning material – debuted at #1 on both Billboard’s “Folk Albums” and “Christian Albums” charts before winning 2011’s “Best Traditional Gospel Album” GRAMMY® Award, Griffin’s first solo GRAMMY® triumph among seven total career nominations. Griffin’s most recent LP, 2015’s Servant Of Love, marked the first release on her own PGM Recordings label via Thirty Tigers. Applauded by The Guardian as “bravely experimental,” the collection saw Griffin earn still another GRAMMY® Award nomination, this time in the “Best Folk Album” category.

“A Hoppy Pilsner Played Through a Distortion Pedal”

Metallica and Arrogant Consortia, a Stone Brewing imprint, have announced ‘Enter Night Pilsner’.  Launching in the US now, and internationally this spring, ‘Enter Night Pilsner’ is a unique expression of the shared values that have helped define Metallica and Stone Brewing: fiercely independent, transcending genres, shattering preconceptions and challenging convention.

‘Enter Night Pilsner’ is the outcome of a genuine creative spark between two entities that grew to become international forces of nature in their respective worlds, yet came from the fringes. An intensity of vision combined with a shared middle finger to the status quo makes ‘Enter Night Pilsner’ a chorus of collaboration worth celebrating.

The members of Metallica and the leadership of Stone participated at every step alongside their talented brewing team. From Metallica’s Bay Area HQ and the brewery HQ in San Diego, to many beers backstage at shows, the spirit of collaboration was powerful. Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and Stone co-founder Greg Koch even enjoyed multiple occasions at Lars’ home ‘discussing’ (industry-speak for ‘drinking’) beers.  After all, there was only one chance to get this right, and anything less than an incredible result was not an option.

“The amount of ideals and outlooks that Metallica and Stone Brewing share are endless,” says Lars. “I’m always blown away about how similar our paths forward have been. Our view of the worlds that we each inhabit, of creativity and process, and sense of place in relation to our peers and ‘The Man’ are almost identical. This collaboration is beyond effortless and pure, and we can’t wait to share this incredible beverage with everyone out there.”

“I remember seeing Metallica on the cover of a magazine just after the Black Album was released,” recalls Greg Koch. “On the cover was a quote that resonated with me to this day: ‘Metallica didn’t go to number one, number one came to them.’  I loved what that meant. Do it your way and never compromise your art. If you’re great at what you do people will come. I view that simple quote as one of the founding philosophical elements of Stone Brewing.”

Aside from its intense drinkability, craft enthusiasts will note ‘Enter Night’s’ remarkable flavour and aroma which artfully combine the beauty of a traditional Northern German Pilsner with Arrogant Consortia’s modern overtones of aggression. The resulting genre-defying pilsner is hop forward with sound bitterness on the finish. It first appeared for the most worthy few in exclusive releases at Metallica’s shows this past fall. The beer will gain full US distribution in the first quarter 2019, and its global domination will roll out this April covering Europe, Australia, China and beyond.

Arrogant Consortia is a wholly owned imprint of Stone Brewing. It’s often aggressive and always self-righteous line-up of beers includes ‘Arrogant Bastard Ale’ and ‘Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard Ale’, among others. The world-renowned brewery is well-known for waving the proud flag independent craft brewing, while rallying against the bland, boring nature of industrialized, commoditized ‘fizzy yellow beer.’ ‘Enter Night Pilsner’ is brewed to be enjoyed fresh and is best enjoyed with your friends… be it in bars, backyards, or tailgates… with your favourite music.

Arrogant Consortia and Metallica make the perfect collaboration: A fiercely independent band hooks up with a rebellious craft brewery. Both have been able to innovate and remain on the cutting edge while pushing boundaries of their respective genres. This is a bold Pilsner that has all the elegance of a traditional Pilsner, but as if it was played through a distortion pedal. It’s the perfect beer for… fuck that, it’s the perfect beer!
