Following a stellar performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year and fresh off the back of the release of her acclaimed debut album Dancing At The Edge Of The World in 2025, Brooke Combe returns with her infectious new single ‘Tears Won’t Lie’. The track is Brooke’s first release on Fontana Records. Listen to ‘Tears Won’t Lie’ HERE & watch the video HERE.

Produced by The Coral’s James Skelly at Kempston Studios in Liverpool, ‘Tears Won’t Lie’ is Brooke Combe on top of her game. Packed to the brim with charm, swagger and draped in her flawless, soul-filled vocals, the track is the perfect beginning to the next chapter in Brooke’s career.

’Tears Won’t Lie’ is a song that explores the truth that surfaces after a relationship falls apart,” Brooke says of the single. “It’s about someone who has spent years hiding their pain behind a smile, only to be confronted with the emotional reality they can’t suppress anymore. Sort of like the moment grief, self-awareness and reality meet, and you’re suddenly awake and won’t lose yourself to love again.”

“The influence soul music has had on the world of music often gets lost on people,” Brooke says of the strong community of new wave soul coming out of Scotland and the UK as a whole. “Sometimes it feels like everyone believes indie and rock music is what built UK music, but truthfully all of that came from the influence of soul scenes.”

The track comes alongside a stunningly retro video directed by James Slater (CMAT, Sam Fender, Jamie T). Filmed in Saltaire, West Yorkshire and set to the backdrop of a Northern Soul night, the video follows Brooke looking to forget her troubles at the dance hall while she fights back her tears. ““We wanted to build on the world we created on the last video for ‘How Can I Tell You? (To Love Me More),” Brooke said. “We explored another side to the visuals this time, something that reflected the lyrics and represents the mask we wear when we are suffering, while trying to continue to live our lives.”

Currently on her second sold-out headline run across the UK and known for her enthralling live shows, Brooke already has a 2026 packed with gigs. Headlining London’s KOKO tonight, Brooke has also been announced to support Jalen N’gonda across the UK & Europe later this year, including a date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on October 28th, as well as a run of UK and EU festival slots through the summer.
