Rufus And Martha Wainwright Announce Christmas Shows ‘A Not So Silent Night’ Featuring Very Special Guests

Dublin and London December Shows

To Benefit The Kate McGarrigle Fund

Rufus and Martha Wainwright bring their acclaimed Christmas show

‘A Not So Silent Night’ back to London for the first time in ten years for what promises to be one of the concert highlights of the year. These special shows have become a holiday tradition for the Wainwright and McGarrigle families.

“Ten years ago our mother Kate McGarrigle played what was to be her last performance ever at the Royal Albert Hall which was one of the most beautiful and emotional nights of my life,” Rufus Wainwright recalls. “Martha and I are honoured and excited to return to London to celebrate the 10th anniversary and Christmas.”

Tickets go on sale July 26th.

Rufus and Martha play the following shows:

Mon 2nd          Dublin, National Concert Hall

Tues 3rd           Dublin, National Concert Hall

Fri 6th               London, Royal Festival Hall

First performed in 2005, this holiday celebration is equal parts concert and family reunion. Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer of the Feeling and composer of the hit West End musical ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’, will be the show’s musical director. All proceeds from the concerts will go towards the Kate McGarrigle Fund supporting sarcoma research and a music therapy program for cancer patients to be launched by Martha Wainwright in conjunction with Stand Up To Cancer Canada.

The Telegraph called the ‘Not So Silent Night’ Royal Albert Hall show

‘the best family party ever’ in their 4* review. Expect another Christmas cracker! Special guests will be announced shortly.
